Cristiano Ronaldo ‘NOT our problem’ insists CEO of superstar’s former club

Juventus’ CEO says his heart goes out to Cristiano Ronaldo during his present challenges at Manchester United, but distinguishes his team from the issues in England.

Ronaldo was with the Turin-based club for three years before returning to Old Trafford last summer.

However, Ronaldo’s second tenure with the Red Devils has not been without controversy, and it was evident that the Portuguese megastar intended to leave the club in quest of Champions League play.

The transfer window has closed, and Ronaldo has been rested for Manchester United’s final three league games by manager Erik ten Hag.

Juventus CEO Maurizio Arrivabene, who has held the position since November of last year, said he sympathises with the 37-year-old’s plight, noting his club parted Ronaldo on good terms.

Arrivabene, 65, told DAZN: ‘We are sorry to see him in such a situation that is not pleasant for him and for the team.

‘We separated ways at Juventus with mutual respect.

‘We are sorry for what’s happened to him in Manchester this year, but it’s not our problem.’

It remains to be seen how ten Hag deploys Ronaldo in the club’s upcoming Premier League and Europa League matches, and his options may be further limited by the addition of Antony as a forward option.

According to Sportsmail, Ten Hag also stated that Ronaldo’s fitness was a concern after the 37-year-old missed a large amount of pre-season games.

Meanwhile, Juventus has started the Serie A season unblemished, with two victories and three draws, including Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Fiorentina.

Juventus drop points against Fiorentina

Christian Kouame of Fiorentina equalised an early goal by Juventus’ Arkadiusz Milik to secure a 1-1 home draw on Saturday and end his team’s three-game goalless streak in Serie A.

Milik put Juventus ahead nine minutes into the game with a first-time strike on Juan Cuadrado’s cross into the top right corner.

But, twenty minutes later, Fiorentina equalised with a fantastic counter-attack lead by Kouame’s accurate low strike.

Pietro Terracciano of Fiorentina punched away defender Filip Kostic’s corner kick, only for the ball to find winger Riccardo Sottil, who fired in a superb long pass to Kouame for a smooth finish at the far post.

Coach Vincenzo Italiano’s side had a penalty granted to them shortly before halftime after new arrival Leandro Paredes handled the ball in the box – but striker Luka Jovic fired straight towards the left post from the spot.

Juventus is fourth in the fifth round of games with nine points, while Fiorentina is tenth with six.
