Over/Under Goals: Soccer Betting Guide

Over/Under Betting Guide – Juventus games

Let’s learn how to bet on the number of goals in the games involving Juventus. If you learn how to bet on the games of Juve you can profit in any football game with odds available in the international markets.

The market uses odds just like in the 1×2 market, for example. But the selections use lines with decimal numbers such as 2.5 or 3.5.

There are advanced markets that use lines like Under 3, or a combined bet like 3.25 or 3.75, but we’ll explain this in a different guide.

When you see numbers like 1.5, 2.5, or 3.5, this is a simple Over/under market. Let’s learn more about how it works.

Juventus – Empoli: Over/under odds

In the coming game between Juventus and Empoli, valid for Serie A, these are the odds for Over/under.

Over 2.5: 1.83
Under 2.5: 2.01

It means if you bet the game will have 3 goals or more, you’ll win $1.83 for every $1 you bet. So if you bet $100 you’ll win $183 in the Over scenario and $201 in the under scenario.

Under 2.5 winning results: 0-0, 1-0, 1-1, 0-1, 2-0, 0-2.
Over 2.5 winning results: any other result.

If the game produces two goals or fewer, this number is smaller than 2.5, so you win the bet. If you bet on over 2.5, if the game has 3 goals or more you win.

Over/Under: Live Soccer betting on goals

Like other markets, you can bet on the number of goals during the game. This market is more affected by the clock than others. It means that, for example, around ’10 of the first half, the match result odds of 1×2 or Asian handicap can be the same as before kick-off if the game is still 0-0 and no major event like a red card happened.

But the over/under markets are more sensitive to the clock. There are some interesting facts to consider.

The under bets start as winners
The over bets start as losers.

Over bets only become winner ones after goals are produced. So as time passes, there’s statistically less chance of the bet winning.

Betting odds, selections, and lines – betting market concepts

Odds will determine your potential prize. But there’s another important concept in the world of betting: the lines or the selections.

In the Juve – Empoli match, if no team scores, the Over/Under lines of 2.5 will drop to 1.5 at some point in the game, and eventually, 0.5 close to the final whistle

So the odds may remain around 2.0, but if the line is 1.5, it takes fewer goals for the over bet to win, and fewer goals for the under bet to lose.

But what happens if a team scores? The lines will also move! After a goal, the over 0.5 and under 0.5 lines won’t be sold anymore because it doesn’t make sense: there’s a goal already in the score.

So the lines will climb to let’s say, one more goal than previously.

In the game between Real Madrid and Barcelona today, after the first goal, the over/under markets rose to Over 3.75, because it was an early goal ’12. The lines were Under / Over 3 before kick-off.

Another interesting goal betting market is the correct score market. Check out our special guide.
